How many trades is too many ?
responding to NQoos Yahoo discussion 6/22/03

10 - 2 lot trades - target 1
point - 9:30 to 11:00
This simbroker record was posted last week.
Can't direct you to the dacharts posting now because dacharts server is
down.
I did not feel well enough to trade this
morning so instead experimented with scalping which I do not do realtime with
real money, except when I recognize a narrow range.
There was a discussion going on in echat
about consistency and thought posting my simbroker for the partial day up to
that time would illustrate what was being discussed.
The simbroker record represents trading 2
lots so... it represents 10 trades. I was going for 1 pointers on the first
contract.
This also represents a 1 hour and 30
minute time period... so projected to the entire day that would have been 40/50
trades, if I could have maintained the focus. Further, projected weekly would be
200/250 trades.
I am not saying I can do that throughout a
day or day after day on a weekly basis.
Perhaps if I traded from 9:30 to 11:30 then
again 1:30 to 4:00 if would be easier for me and then still +131 trades.
My main point is I allow for all things to
be possible. The fact of believing it impossible can make it so. I
certainly allow the possibility that other traders can do this if not everyday
on some days.
and again........ I do not encourage others
to trade as you say 131+ trades a week. I encourage all to find their pace of
frequency, time period at the screen and tools and setups they choose to use.
If someone told me that they are unsuccessful
and that have been trading 131 times a week. and they have been trading that
style unsuccessfully for some time (1 or 2 months). I would suggest that they
consider less trades.
